Mind’s Eye Magic Rewiring Perception
Last month I revealed to you how your mind ‘files’ images. Today I am going to explain how you can use this information. You may choose to read this first.
If you experimented last month using a number of different people that you know, you discovered that they are filed in different places when you visualise them. You may also have noticed that all the people that you care about a lot are approximately in the same place, and that applies to people that you do not care for too – they will be in a different place but bunched together. If you thus think about the filing system in your head (and it will be different for everyone) what you are doing is creating a map of where people are.
Now you have this information you can use it. If, for instance, someone that is troublesome in you life figures in your exploration. Find where the image is and move it!
You need to be clear about where the people you love are currently, and clear about who the people who you dislike are currently, and note their positions. It is likely that, for most (but not all), the people you dislike are a distance away. They may be at the side – they could possibly be behind your head even! The point is that if one of those people is a cause of distress to you – put it in the position in your head where the people you dislike but who are of ‘no consequence’ any more are in your head – possibly even further away. Your unconscious mind may not let you and they will return to the previous position. Just experiment. Experiment by noticing how you feel when you have changed the position of someone. Keep on changing it until there is a noticeable difference in your feelings about that person.
This may sound crazy to you, but I can tell you from experience that it works, for it changes your response to the effects of that person. And that of experiences too.
So the next experiment is to think of good experiences in your life, and think of bad experiences in your life and notice where you have those filed.
My experience was that my mother died when I was 13 and my father died when I was 15. I was bounced from home to home and had a difficult childhood. When I was learning this applied psychology we discovered that I had these experiences stored at the front of my mind (and to the left). We moved them – all of them – and they are still there, but they are behind my head so I can’t see them unless I choose to. The result has been a calm that I didn’t have before doing this work.
All you can do it try it out – and if it works for you then you life will change for the better (and remember you can choose to move the people in your filing system that you love closer to you too!)
